Hi there
my name is phillip from pembrokeshire in sw wales. I am the proud owner of a 22ft colvic sea worker fishing boat, I purchased the boat around 2 years ago now. and when I purchased her, a couple of days later I found that the bilge pumps were not working properly, and when I checked I found that the wiring going to the bilge pumps had black burn marked on them. so I mashed to find a local marine engineer who said that he would come and check things out for me, in regards to the burn marks on the main wiring go in to the bilge pumps. so after this person investigated the problem, he then have me the bad news. and told me that there would have,to be be a rewiring job, due to the state on the wiring. but it would cost me around £3,900 for him to do the work on the wiring of my boat. although the engine would start and run very smoothly. so anyway he started the work, but unfortunately kept letting me down and not turning up to d any work on on boat. so as you can.imagine how this affected me ! so this not turning up went on for months and I had already paid him to do the job for me. anyway I finally managed to get him back after a lot of phone calls and texts. so when I finally got him back to the boat. he was there for around four days.e and then went missing again. and since that day I haven’t seen him. so he,s taken my money, but not completed the wiring from the batteries to back of the main dashboard where all the gauges switches and ignition panel are fitted, but not yet rewired back in. I have tried all the local boating engineers and the main tackle and parts shops to see if I could find someone else to take over the work and complete the dashboard wiring. so that I can get the engine running again before the winter months are on top of us again. other people want I it, because there,s not enough profit in it for them. so I was wondering if you could help me out. and may be find a very good wiring diagram for me please. but it would have,to be very detailed. with lots of good close up pictures. in his to wire up all the gauges. switches such a auto and manual bilge pump switch. which comes off the same switch. toggle switches. and light switches inside and out please. and an illustration and good pictures of how and where to rewire the dashboard wiring of all these things. and will try and do it my se!f. but I will find it very hard to concentrate and remember. due to being diagnosed with dementia/ Parkinson’s disease. if you can’t find any information on this. would it be impossible to draw me some diagrams that I would find it easy to follow. I would be prepared to pay you for any inconvenience and your time. my boat engine is a 2.5 Peugeot diesel engine. with a volvo stern drive. and if it would also be possible to tell me what coloured wires go where. I do know that there is a pink purple solid white a black wire. a orange wire. a brown wire. a blue wire. possibly green wire. and yellow wire. these wires come from the engine harness along one side of the boat. and then into the wheelhouse and connected to the batteries. but has not been connected to the anything yet. as this is the way the wiring had been left by the previous electrition. any help or advice you can give me would be more than welcome. and there is also a thicker white wire that is showing up as permanent live. and I have no idea where this wire goes. I hope that I will hear from you ASAP please so that I can get started on trying to finish the wiring on my boat. or if you know of anyone who would be willing to come down to Pembrokeshire to sort this problem out for me this would be more than very helpful. my number is 07533985553. at anytime that would be convenient for them
very kind regards
Phillip.
